Modifiable Risk Factors

Event Details: This week's mini-talk is on Modifiable Risk Factors for Cardiovascular Disease. Cardiovascular disease, such as heart and artery disease, is caused by a combination of lifestyle factors and non-modifiable risk factors. In this mini-talk, you will learn what lifestyle factors contribute to cardiovascular disease, and what actions you can take to improve your cardiovascular health.

Live Session: Mini Talk with Resistance Training

Event Details: An Exercise Therapist will deliver this week's mini-talk on Modifiable Risk Factors. Following the mini-talk, an Exercise Therapist will guide you through a 30-minute warmup and resistance training session.  Exercises can be adapted to utilize dumbbells, exercise bands, household items, or bodyweight.

 

During the live event, you will be able to ask questions to our Exercise Therapist and provide us with feedback using the Q&A box

Live Session: Exercise & Vascular Health with Floor Yoga

Event Details: An Exercise Therapist will deliver our Heart Healthy Education session on Exercise & Vascular Health. During this informative session, you will learn (1) how vascular disease (including cardiovascular disease) develops, (2) how exercise can manage and prevent future cardiovascular events, and (3) how much exercise is suggested to improve your heart and vascular health.

 

Following the education session, an Exercise Therapist with additional yoga training will guide you through a 30-minute yoga practice,  focusing on standing and floor based positions. The focus will be on flexibility, strengthening and breathing techniques.

 

During the live event, you will be able to ask questions to our Exercise Therapist and provide us with feedback using the Q&A box
